That artwork looks pretty weird. I know "digital inking" is a thing these days, but this looks like video game renderings. I prefer the old school art of inking, and making it snappy with digital coloring.
I think they clipped it out of the cover and dropped it on that background, so that might make it look a little funkier than it should be. But yeah, the video game rendering style is pretty annoying.
